Lagos Blue Line infrastructure has recorded a major boost as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the arrival of three brand new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.

The governor’s announcement, detailed in a press statement by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril A. Gawat, marks a significant step forward in the delivery of Phase Two of the Blue Line project.
This phase will see the rail line extended from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, with completion targeted for 2026.
“The arrival of these new trains demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transforming transportation in Lagos through reliable, safe, and efficient infrastructure,” said Governor Sanwo-Olu.
The new train sets are expected to improve operational efficiency and support the smooth rollout of services along the extended corridor.
The LRMT Blue Line is a key component of the state’s multi-modal transport strategy aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing urban mobility.
