The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched its sensitisation campaign for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Oyo State.
This initiative is aimed at increasing public awareness and participation ahead of the upcoming electoral process.
At a press briefing held at the INEC Collation Centre, the Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Adeniran Rahman Tella, stated that the physical phase of the sensitization activities began on Monday and will continue across the state.
Dr Tella explained that the CVR exercise targets individuals who recently turned 18 and have pre-registered online, as well as those who are yet to register.
He encouraged eligible citizens to complete their registration at the INEC state office or any of the 33 local government INEC offices within the state.
He further emphasized that the campaign’s main goals are to inform the public about the registration process, promote voter participation among youth, women, and persons with disabilities, and combat voter apathy by highlighting the power of a single vote and the importance of civic responsibility.
