Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has sponsored Nigerian videographer Jeffrey Oboh-Oshioke, popularly known as Juicyjeff, to study filmmaking at the London Film Academy in the United Kingdom.

Juicyjeff, who creates behind-the-scenes and mobile videography content for Akindele, announced the development in an Instagram post on Tuesday after arriving in London.

The videographer expressed gratitude to Akindele for supporting his ambition to pursue a career in filmmaking, describing the opportunity as a major new chapter in his professional journey.

According to him, Akindele’s generosity and belief in his potential helped turn his filmmaking dream into reality.

“Out of her incredible generosity and genuine belief in me, she has given me an opportunity I will never take for granted — to come to London and pursue my passion for filmmaking at the London Film Academy,” he wrote.

He thanked the actress for believing in him and opening the door to the opportunity, adding that he remained deeply grateful for her support.

Juicyjeff also shared a video documenting his journey from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London.

Describing the trip as more than just another journey, he said it marked the beginning of a new phase in his filmmaking career.

“So, this is not just another trip. It’s a new chapter, a new frame and definitely a bigger production,” he wrote.

“From Lagos to London, the camera keeps rolling… and I’m grateful for every scene.”

Akindele is currently in the United Kingdom following the unveiling of her latest project, The Four.

The award-winning filmmaker, known for the Jenifa franchise and several other successful Nollywood productions, has continued to play a significant role in the growth of Nigeria’s film industry.
