President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Abel Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Enitan’s assumption of office followed the retirement of his predecessor, Didi Walson-Jack, who left the Federal Civil Service after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
Tinubu had earlier approved Enitan’s appointment as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation with effect from August 27, 2026.
Before his appointment, Enitan served as a Permanent Secretary for seven years and seven months, with postings to the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice-President.
He was the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education immediately before his elevation to the top civil service position.
Enitan succeeds Walson-Jack, who retired after reaching the mandatory retirement age.
