Abiodun wins national award for Ogun’s digital transformation

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has been recognised as Governor of the Year – Public Service Innovation at the Nigeria eGovernment Excellence Awards 2026.

The award, organised by the Nigeria eGovernment Summit, recognised Abiodun’s leadership in deploying technology and implementing e-governance reforms to modernise public administration, improve service delivery and strengthen transparency and citizen engagement.

The organisers commended Ogun State’s growing digital penetration and innovation, describing the administration’s technology-driven initiatives as a significant step towards building a more efficient, accessible and citizen-centred public service.

Under Abiodun, the state has increasingly deployed digital platforms across government operations to simplify access to public services, streamline administrative processes and improve interaction between the government and residents.

Receiving the award, Abiodun thanked the organisers for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement for his administration to deepen the use of Information and Communication Technology in governance.

The governor said his administration would continue to introduce reforms aimed at improving the quality of life of residents, stressing that his commitment to delivering better governance would remain unwavering until the final day of his tenure.
