The naira appreciated to N1,380 per dollar in the parallel market on Tuesday, from N1,390 recorded on Monday.
However, the local currency weakened slightly at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), where it closed at N1,329.50 per dollar, compared with N1,329 on Monday.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the indicative exchange rate rose by 50 kobo to N1,329.50 per dollar.
The movement narrowed the gap between the parallel and official markets to N50.50 per dollar, from N61 the previous day.
Meanwhile, foreign exchange turnover at the NFEM rose significantly, increasing by 177.6 per cent to $262.12 million from $94.4 million recorded on Monday.
