Voting for the 2026 Ballon d’Or has officially closed, with journalists from FIFA’s top-ranked nations casting their votes to determine this year’s winners.
For the men’s award, selected journalists from the top 100 countries in the FIFA rankings took part in the voting process.
Among the players in contention are Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona midfielder Rodri.
In the women’s category, 50 journalists representing the top 50 FIFA-ranked nations participated in the voting.
Manchester City forward Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Alexia Putellas, who recently joined London City Lionesses after leaving Barcelona, are among the players in contention for the women’s award.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom, on October 26.
The winners will be announced at the ceremony after the votes have been tallied and verified.
