American rapper Nicki Minaj has expressed concern over reported killings in Plateau State following accounts of attacks on Christian communities in the state.
The musician reacted to reports highlighted by Nigerian pastor Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who has been drawing attention to attacks on communities in Plateau.
According to the reports, three Christians were killed in attacks on Gassa and Chit villages on 24 September. Two more people were reportedly killed the following night, while another five were said to have been killed the next morning.
Reacting to the report, Minaj wrote: “Lord, if we hear from you, then we will know what to do.”
Her comment has since generated reactions on social media, with some Nigerians calling for greater international attention to the recurring violence in Plateau State.
The reports of the killings have also renewed discussions about the security challenges facing communities in parts of Plateau and the need for measures to protect residents from further attacks.
