Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has sparked reactions after declaring that men who are unwilling to make the ultimate sacrifice for their partners are “foolish”.
The “Wotowoto Seasoning” crooner made the comment during a recent episode of the In Motion Podcast, where he discussed his views on love, marriage and his Christian faith.
Odumodublvck said he was willing to die for his partner, citing the biblical instruction for Christians to love their wives as Christ loved the Church.
“Any man who can’t die for his woman is foolish. I am a Christian, and Jesus Christ said we should love our wife like Christ loves the Church. And what did Christ do for the Church? He died for the Church,” he said.
The rapper added that he expected his wife to outlive him, noting that she would be responsible for distributing his wealth to their children and continuing his legacy.
“I am probably going to die before my wife, in Jesus’ name, because my wife is younger than me. Why should she die before me? It doesn’t make any sense. I should die before my wife,” he said.
“And when I die, it is my wife who will take and distribute my wealth to my children so that there will be no issue. It is my wife that will continue my legacy.”
The rapper also addressed allegations that he is a misogynist, describing the perception as one of the biggest misconceptions about him.
According to Odumodublvck, the label is unfair and does not reflect his views towards women.
“The biggest misconception about me is that I am a misogynist. It bothers me a lot because it is such an unfair thing to say. I am willing to die for my girlfriend; does that seem like what a misogynist would do?” he asked.
His comments have since generated reactions, particularly around his views on romantic relationships, sacrifice and his interpretation of Christian teachings on marriage.
