Al-Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou has declined to comment on the reported disagreement between Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus.
Postecoglou was asked about the incident during a press conference ahead of Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League clash with Al-Diriyah on Friday.
The Australian manager said he prefers not to interfere in matters involving national teams, recalling his own experience as a former national team coach.
“Ronaldo has returned in good condition. He is mentally and physically ready, and that’s the most important thing,” Postecoglou said, according to Al-Riyadh.
“As for the national team and his incident, I used to coach national teams, and I disliked club coaches commenting on national team events.”
Ronaldo reportedly attracted attention during the recent international break following his alleged disagreement with Jesus during Portugal’s fixtures.
The 41-year-old has since returned to Al-Nassr and is expected to feature against Al-Diriyah as the Saudi Pro League resumes.
Al-Nassr currently sit third in the league with 16 points from seven matches, having recorded five wins, one draw and one defeat.
