Super Falcons interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has urged his players to respect Comoros ahead of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying fixture.
The 10-time African champions will face Comoros in the first leg of their second-round qualifying tie at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne on Friday.
The return fixture is scheduled to take place at the same venue next Tuesday.
Comoros head into the encounter after an emphatic performance in the previous qualifying round, where they thrashed Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.
Nigeria are widely regarded as favourites to progress, given their pedigree and the quality of players available to both teams.
However, Eguavoen has warned his players against complacency, insisting that they must remain focused and adhere to their game plan.
The coach expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome the challenge while emphasising the importance of respecting their opponents.
“I believe no team can come here and survive. But we are not looking down on anyone. We’re not looking down on our opponents, really, with all respect. We stick to our game plan and just make sure we deliver,” Eguavoen told reporters.
The Super Falcons will be looking to secure a positive result in the tie as they continue their bid to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games.
