Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has identified Kasımpaşa as one of the teams that have given his side the most trouble since he joined the Turkish Super Lig club from Napoli.
The Nigerian international spoke after Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over Kasımpaşa on Friday evening.
Osimhen said his team had expected a difficult encounter, warning that no opponent should be underestimated in the Turkish top flight.
“As for today’s match, just like our coach said, we were expecting it to be a tough one,” he told HT Spor.
“The one thing you should never do in this league is underestimate any team or opponent. Since the day I joined this league, Kasımpaşa has been one of the teams that have given us the most trouble. Even before, we went 3-0 up, but they brought it back to 3-3,” he said.
The win came after a challenging contest in which Galatasaray had to withstand pressure from Kasımpaşa before securing the result.
Osimhen will now turn his attention to Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona on Tuesday, October 13, as the Turkish champions prepare for another major test.
The Nigerian forward will be hoping to help his side maintain their strong domestic form and secure a positive result in the European competition.
Galatasaray currently sit at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table with 16 points from seven matches following their victory over Kasımpaşa.
