The Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State have pledged to mobilise votes for President Bola Tinubu across all polling units, wards and local government areas in the state during the 2027 general elections.
The group, a coalition of political support organisations in the state, also promised to work towards the re-election of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Umo Eno and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The state coordinator, Prince Ikim, made the pledge during a strategic meeting with local government and ward coordinators and other members of the group in Uyo, the state capital.
Ikim commended the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration, arguing that the removal of the petrol subsidy and efforts to stabilise the naira were necessary to prevent a deeper economic crisis.
“This meeting is long overdue. It is to bring us together because we are of one party. We have one message, and what is the message? It is the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda. It is the message of the ARISE Agenda,” he said.
He described Tinubu as a leader with the political will to implement major economic reforms, including the removal of the fuel subsidy.
Ikim argued that the reforms had increased the funds available to state and local governments for development projects.
“As far as this country is concerned, if we did not have a President like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this country would have collapsed. Without that political will, we wouldn’t have success,” he said.
He added that state and local governments now had more resources to undertake projects aimed at improving residents’ welfare, crediting Tinubu with supporting projects in Akwa Ibom and other parts of the country.
Also speaking, a former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Aniekan Uko, said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would mobilise support for Tinubu, Akpabio, Eno and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on behalf of Eket Senatorial District, Charles Mbong called for extensive voter sensitisation to encourage eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“We cannot win the upcoming election without encouraging our supporters to get their PVCs. Returning Tinubu, Akpabio, Umo Eno and other APC candidates is a task that must be done,” Mbong said.
The meeting focused on strengthening the group’s grassroots structures and coordinating mobilisation efforts across Akwa Ibom State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
