President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage undertaken for spiritual reflection and renewal.
The President left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Thursday afternoon for the holy city.
Umrah involves a pilgrimage to Makkah, where Muslims perform prescribed religious rites and offer prayers.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu’s trip is intended to provide an opportunity for spiritual reflection and prayers for Nigeria.
The visit comes as the President continues his national responsibilities, with the Presidency saying the pilgrimage is focused on seeking spiritual guidance and praying for the country.
