The Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries in Lagos State (ALARHOSPS) has declared its support for Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat to become the next governor of Lagos State in May 2027.

The endorsement follows the unveiling of Hamzat’s election manifesto, titled The PROMISE, at the Wole Soyinka Arts Theatre, Iganmu, on Friday, 30 October 2026.

The association praised the document, describing its vision as robust, realistic and credible, with particular emphasis on the public service sector and the welfare of pensioners.

ALARHOSPS President, Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, also commended the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for what he described as significant achievements in pension administration over the past eight years.

However, he appealed to the outgoing administration to settle all outstanding pension payments, grants and arrears before the end of its tenure to ensure a smooth transition.

“To ensure a smooth transition for the incoming administration, we appeal to Governor Sanwo-Olu to finalise all outstanding pension payments, grants, and arrears before the end of his tenure,” he said.

Ojora-Adejiyan further called for Lagos State pension structures to be aligned with the approved salary scales paid to equivalent cadres in the Federal Government.

He also urged public servants, pensioners and eligible voters in the state to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing what he described as his administration’s achievements and support for public servants and retirees across the country.

Similarly, he called on Lagos residents to vote for Hamzat as the next governor, acknowledging his role as deputy governor in the release of pension bonds and the fulfilment of financial obligations since May 2019.

ALARHOSPS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting government initiatives and contributing to the development of Lagos State.
