Rivers United continued to exert their superiority over other teams with their fifth away win of the season through a 3-2 outcome in Uyo over Dakkada in Matchday 30 of this season’s Nigeria Professional Football League.

In the absence of the season’s top scorer, Ishaq Rafiu (14 goals), Chijioke Akuneto held forth scoring once for his 12th goal of the season, while Malachi Ohawume added two more as Rivers United ran away as winners at Dakkada to increase their points haul to 64.

Enyimba were deservedly awarded two spot-kicks afterwards with Ghanaian import Farouk Mohammed converting his in the 87th minute while skipper, Austin Oladapo had his penalty kick saved by Goalkeeper George Ameh earlier.

The People’s Elephant moved a step up to the sixth spot with 45 points but are still three points away from the top three, while Nasarawa United slid a spot down to the 13th spot with 38 points.

Wikki are in the 10th spot with 41 points, while Abia Warriors are in the 15th spot with 36 points and only two points away from the drop zone.

The clash between Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars, which was deadlocked at halftime, could not be concluded as claims and counter claims as the away side, Lobi Stars claimed that some fans attacked the team during the break.
