The Asiwaju Solidarity Movement/All Progressives Congress (ASM/APC) group in Alimoso Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State recently welcomed the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Ethos Life Force, Asiwaju Carlo Babatunde Sonupe into its fold.

At the event last Wednesday, which marks the first anniversary of the Bola Tinubu administration, Sonupe (well known by his acronym, ACBS), not only announced his alliance and loyalty to the APC/ASM ward E family and leadership, he also declared his intention to run for the Local Government Chairmanship when the time comes.

He praised the party leadership within the local government and ward, and particularly commended former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire for what he described as her “motherly and leadership roles”.

He stated his commitment towards the party and ASM, emphasising that mothers are anchors in the homes and Mama Alimoso (as Orelooe-Adefulire) is fondly called) the anchor of the party in the LGA.

ACBS said that his commitment to the party goes beyond his political ambition as it is not a “do-or-die” affair. He however appealed to the party leadership to give him a chance to prove himself by making Alimoso a prototype of what a good community should be.

He said that Nigeria has gone beyond the era of money politics, adding: “If given the chance, I will make our mother proud”.

Sonupe was accompanied by the leadership of various groups in the LGA, which include Alimoso Bikers Club, Alimoso Professionals Initiatives, Alimoso Dog Lovers, Association of Nigeria Theatre Practitioners (Alimoso), Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (Alimoso), Alimoso Models, family and friends numbering about 55.

The APC/ASM leadership and members welcomed Sonupe and his followers into their fold with songs and lots of love.
