A former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Dr. Ahmad Abdulrahman has emphasised the need for law enforcement agencies to adapt to emerging trends and technologies, while also addressing the root causes of insecurity in the country.
Abdulrahman, who was the guest lecturer at a strategic security lecture series hosted by the Nigeria Police Academy, stressed that professionalism is key to building trust and confidence in the police, and that it requires a commitment to excellence, integrity, and accountability. He also discussed the operational challenges facing the Nigeria Police Force, including inadequate equipment, insufficient training, and poor welfare for officers.
The lecture was well-received by the audience, who appreciated Abdulrahman’s passion and commitment to the topic. His presentation was described as informative, insightful, and thought-provoking, and his dedication to the development of the police force was evident throughout the lecture.
The lecture highlighted the importance of leadership growth and development in the police force. Dr. Ahmed emphasised that effective leadership is critical to the success of any organization, and that it requires a combination of skills, knowledge, and experience.
The event brought together senior officers, directors, heads of departments, and cadets to discuss the challenges of policing in modern Nigeria.
As the Nigeria Police Force continues to face security challenges, the former AIG’s lecture serves as a call to action for the police force to address the challenges facing it and to strive for excellence in its operations.
