President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate removal of Brigadier General Mohammed Fadah as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Fadah is barely six months in office.
Appointed in May, Fadah took over from Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim as the 19th person to hold the position.
President Buhari, who has earned a reputation of keeping government officials in office — warts and all — is said to have been dissatisfied with Fadah’s performance.
Fadah is said to have been asked to hand over to the most senior official within the NYSC, who will act as DG pending a substantive replacement.
Upon assumption of office as NYSC DG, Fadah promised to “improve the security and welfare of corps members, enhance staff welfare and improve on the gains of NYSC Ventures”.
