The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has declared Exercise Haske Biyu 2025 officially closed, praising the participants for their professionalism, commitment, and collaborative spirit during the three-week multi-agency training exercise.
The exercise, which was held at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, Kaduna State, aimed to enhance interoperability among stakeholders in Nigeria’s security architecture and foster strategic synergy with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
With The Theme: ‘Family and National Security’, highlighting the critical role family units play in maintaining national security and stability.
General Musa commended the Commandant and the entire College community for a job exceedingly well done, noting that the exercise has once again demonstrated the College’s central role in shaping the future of internal security operations through rigorous joint training and intellectual engagement.
General Musa emphasised the significance of the theme, ‘Family and National Security’, and commended the inclusion of family dynamics, civic responsibility, and moral resilience as central pillars of the exercise. He noted that the security of the nation begins with the foundation of strong families and cohesive communities.
The CDS also expressed appreciation for the attendance of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the opening ceremony, saying her presence and inspiring keynote address underscored the national importance of the exercise.
General Musa urged participants to translate what they have learned into practical, solution-driven action in the collective quest for national peace and stability.
He commended the College for its continued excellence in producing world-class officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and strategic partners in the security architecture.
The CDS expressed confidence that the experience gained will enrich participants’ professional conduct in both operational and strategic assignments in the future.
In his welcome address the Commandant of the college, Air Vice Marshall (AVM) Hassan Alhaji, said the exercise underscored the importance of strong families as the foundation of society, where morality, discipline, and patriotism were nurtured, stressing that strong families build strong nations.
According to him, weak families could create avenues for chaos, radicalism, extremism, and disunity, ultimately threatening national cohesion and stability.
AVM Alhaji, therefore, said the exercise provided a platform for participants to engage in discussions that generated practical solutions to national challenges, empowering them as vital stakeholders in the country’s development.
He disclosed that next year’s exercise would focus on consolidating the achievements of the current year and would bring together stakeholders from the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government, alongside other relevant groups.
AFCSC Commandant Hassan explained that the programme aimed to build resilience and strengthen national spirit by involving all segments of society, including people with disabilities, to foster a shared sense of unity and purpose.
