Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede has commended Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani for making the state more secure and peaceful since assuming office.
During a courtesy visit to the Governor on Friday evening, ahead of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day celebration, Oluyede attributed the improved security to the Governor’s inclusive style of leadership.
‘Since you came on board, Kaduna State has been more peaceful. This is largely because you run an inclusive government. Before now, areas like the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari-Tegina axis were no-go zones. The Kaduna-Abuja expressway was also a major concern. But those are now behind us’, he stated.
The Army chief expressed appreciation to the governor for allowing Kaduna to host this year’s Army Day celebration, marking 162 years of the Nigerian Army.
He also thanked Sani for the consistent support provided to the military, especially the 1st Mechanized Division.
‘We recognise the backing you’ve given the Army since you assumed office. In return, we will continue to support the efforts of your administration in keeping Kaduna safe’, he assured.
Responding, the governor hailed the Nigerian Army for its unwavering role in promoting national unity, integration, and development.
‘The Nigerian Army continues to make tremendous sacrifices to protect our nation from criminal elements. Nigerians are deeply grateful’, he said.
He also commended the military for respecting democratic institutions, adding: ‘I must acknowledge the professionalism with which the Army, and indeed the entire Armed Forces, has operated under civil democratic authority. This is vital for the survival of our democracy and the stability of our society’.
Sani pledged continued logistical support to enhance the operational efficiency of the Nigerian Army, assuring that his administration remains committed to expanding collaboration with the military to secure lives and property in the state.
