This declaration was made by the National Coordinator of Ndigbo Media Forum Worldwide, Rev. Paul Eze, in a press statement issued in Lagos State.

The group emphatically stated that Eze Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu is the rightful Ezendigbo Lagos State, following the passing of the revered founder of Ndieze in Diaspora, Eze Hyacinth Ohazuruike (OON).

Rev. Eze highlighted the necessity of this clarification, especially in light of reports that some individuals were planning to declare themselves Ezendigbo in the State after the final burial of the late Ohazuruike.

He urged them to desist from such actions, emphasizing that the matter of succession is already settled.

Let’s make it clear: the position of the rightful Onyeisi Ezendigbo Lagos is Eze Nwachukwu since nature has taken Eze Ohazuruike. There is no doubt on this matter, and we urge all persons to respect this and avoid actions that will further destabilize Ndigbo unity and peace in Lagos State.

Call for Peace and Stability

“Eze Nwachukwu’s authority as the Ezendigbo Lagos State has since been established and recognized, and he remains so,” Rev. Eze stated.

“Any individuals who are inciting troubles concerning the office of Ezendigbo in the State should rethink and allow peace to reign among Ndigbo in Lagos State.”

The Ndigbo Media Forum has consistently stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability within both local government areas and the state.

The group believes that inciting unrest only exacerbates tensions and creates unnecessary problems for Ndigbo residing in Lagos State.

“Let’s make it clear: the position of the rightful Onyeisi Ezendigbo Lagos is Eze Nwachukwu since nature has taken Eze Ohazuruike. There is no doubt on this matter, and we urge all persons to respect this and avoid actions that will further destabilize Ndigbo unity and peace in Lagos State,” the statement reiterated.

The Ndigbo Media Forum underscored the community’s values: “We Ndigbo value harmony and respect for tradition. We call on everyone involved to cease any provocative activities and work towards fostering peace and solidarity within us.”

Honouring Eze Ohazuruike’s Legacy

In their communique, the Ndigbo Media Forum also pledged their participation in the burial arrangements for the late Ezendigbo Lagos State, Eze Hyacinth Ohazuruike.

The group further extolled Eze Ohazuruike for his monumental efforts in establishing Ndieze in Diaspora and for his philanthropic gestures, asserting that he has “stamped his foots on the sands of our time and that history will never forget him.”

To further uphold his legacy, the Ndigbo Media Forum revealed plans to organise a post-mortem annual lecture in honour of the late Ezendigbo Lagos, aiming to perpetuate the values and principles he stood for.
