Peter Obi has become the umbrella that all aggrieved Nigerians run to and vent their anger. He has struck a cord with the disgruntled youths of this great nation. He is rattling up the political atmosphere in ways that are making traditional politicians uncomfortable — Jaiyeola Ajasa

In Peter Obi we trust. It is as simple as A-B-C. If nothing at all, this Nigerian has changed the face of politics in the country. Maybe forever.

That Peter Obi is larger than life is no hyperbole. His fame has grown like a bush fire in the harmattan. Goggle him on his appearance at Shiloh Church where he stole the show from presiding Pastor David Oyedepo. Obi, who has made it a point to visit all churches got a rousing ovation wherever he goes. He is mobbed on the streets. And all and sundry wants a selfie with him. Yet he remains humble, obliging everyone and generous with his time and personality.

If you are good and you want nothing but the very best for this country, you will love Obi. If you want the same madness to continue while looking for a change through the insanity, you will loathe Obi. The status quo is scared of the name Peter Obi. The worst they could say about him is that he lies too, like them. He is corrupt too, like them. What an irony!  They try to paint him in their own image to tarnish his reputation; just like theirs have been tarnished.

Nigerians, thanks to Obi, know how to engage in critical thinking about the future of the country; and not follow the crowd. The old politicians like Atiku Abubakar, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu have used insults and cynicism to deliberately displace civil discussions. Now we are talking about the problems as a people, not as tribes. Thanks, in length to Obi.

We have graciously, become a tribe without tribalism. Obi’s supporters are not the Igbo people in Onitsha. They are also the Hausa people in Kotangora, the Yoruba man in faraway America. If you love the country with your heart, Obi is your man.

They said he had no structure. I wrote then and I am reiterating now “who needs an edifice when you have the heart of the people”. They said he was crazy, and his political campaign will fizzle out like snow, when the sun comes out. Now they are the crazy one not to take Obi seriously because he just might win this election.

The electorate want to confront real issues that confront the country at this time. If you avoid debates as a presidential candidate, you will pay. Thanks to Obi. If you come and you are not prepared. You will pay. Thanks to Obi. The All Progessives Congress has been a horror story beyond anything we imagined. They will pay. Thanks to Obi. He got unconditional love without giving shi-shi. The case of two nations with the poor and the wealthy on different sides must end. Though tribe and tongue may differ, Obi is telling us in brotherhood we should stand.

If we truly want the change we deserved and desire, Nigeria a broken nation can be fixed. We know and truly believe that.

Thanks to Peter Obi.
