Kaduna lawmaker dies 3 days after inauguration

A member representing Chikun constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Madami Garba Madami is dead.

Madami, a member of under the Peoples Democratic Party, died in the hospital where he was receiving treatment on Saturday, three days after the inauguration.

The 10th State Assembly members were inaugurated on June 13, 2023, and the late member could not participate as a result of an undisclosed ailment.

A traditional title holder from his constituency, Ibrahim Sale, the Ardo Ardodin, confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, Governor Uba Sani has expressed shock over the death of the lawmaker while commiserating with the immediate family and the Chikun constituency.

The governor noted that the lawmaker was known for promoting peaceful coexistence and was greatly respected.

The governor prayed “God grant the soul of Madami eternal rest and comfort his family, associates, friends, and constituents he left behind.

“In his lifetime, Madami, served as member, representing Chikun Constituency, in the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area; Commissioner of Planning and Budget and Special Adviser Political, to Late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa”.
