Kebbi govt distances self from remanding PDP spokesperson

The Kebbi State Government on Friday exonerated itself from the ongoing court case between the spokesperson of state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sani Dododo and one Comrade Mohammed Usman Anache.

In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Ahmed Idris said: ‘This is a personal issue between the two parties, neither the State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris nor the State Government had hand in the ongoing case.

‘We want to make it categorically clear to the good people of Kebbi State that His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu is a true democrat who respects the rule of law.

‘Our amiable Governor is a unionist who understands and believes in democracy and rule of law.

‘We are not even aware of the case, we just learnt about the case through public discuss. Therefore, government is distancing itself from this case because it has no hand in it.

‘We also want to appeal to the good people of Kebbi State to remain calm and continue with their normal business’.

The state government saud that it appreciated the maximum support and cooperation it is enjoying from the people of the state and pleaded for more to be able to deliver the needed dividends of democracy to the public.
