The governor made the announcement during an on-the-spot assessment of the extensive destruction caused by the flood.

In a comprehensive package of support, Bago also revealed that the state government will provide ten trucks each of rice, beans, maize, millet, and sorghum to the flood victims.

He assured the affected communities that all donations would be distributed fairly through a dedicated committee led by his deputy, Yakubu Garba.

Beyond immediate aid, the governor outlined plans for resettlement, stating that the state government would provide land and necessary services for new homes.

He directed the Ministry for Land and Survey to promptly issue a Certificate of Occupancy to the Federal Government, facilitating the immediate construction of resettlement homes to prevent victims from prolonged stays in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.

The governor extended his gratitude to the Federal Government, various donor partners and agencies, and individuals who have supported the victims during this challenging time.

In a related and crucial development,  Bago also announced the commencement of a N7 billion road and bridge construction project linking Mokwa to Rabba.

The road construction forms part of a broader infrastructure recovery plan by the state government, specifically aimed at rebuilding critical public utilities destroyed by the floods.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji extended his sympathies to the people of Mokwa, particularly the flood victims, encouraging them to remain steadfast.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairperson of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, along with former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Ketso, commended Governor Bago for his timely donation and expressed appreciation for the widespread support and solidarity shown by all contributors.
