Elon Musk’s entrance into the realm of social media has taken an intriguing turn, with recent reports revealing that content creators and influencers from Nigeria and other parts of the world are now experiencing the rewards of their online efforts. This can be attributed to Musk’s innovative revenue-sharing approach, which has provided them with newfound benefits and opportunities.
Influencers and content creators have started receiving payments through X, formerly known as Twitter, which has implemented an ad revenue-sharing model.
This model has brought an air of anticipation and thrill to the online community, as verified users both in Nigeria and internationally who meet certain criteria and impression thresholds are now eligible to receive payment.
Musk’s statement indicated that revenue generated from advertisements would be shared exclusively with content creators whose posts become the focal points of ad replies.
Verified users from Nigeria and beyond, who meet specified criteria and impress with their content, now see their efforts rewarded. Notably, only content creators who subscribe to the exclusive Twitter Blue service are eligible for this scheme, creating a fresh incentive for subscription growth.
Also, creators must have at least five million impressions on their posts every three months. They must also pass a human review for Creator Monetisation Standards.
Users must have at least 500 followers and a Stripe account for payment. Eligible users can join and set up payments from within the Monetization section of the app found on the sidebar on the iOS and Android menu on the web.
Unsurprisingly, social media has been buzzing with the news. Many paid creators, moved by this unprecedented gesture, have proudly showcased their payment receipts. This trend not only serves as a testament to the success of Musk’s revenue-sharing scheme but also fosters a sense of community among content creators, strengthening their ties to the platform and its initiatives.
However, Twitter’s commitment to maintaining high content standards remains unwavering. Creators can’t monetize sexual or copyrighted content, ensuring that quality and integrity remain core tenets of the platform’s user-generated content.
Below are some of the payments made to Nigerian creators and influencers;

2. Wake up 6:30 everyday, bath, get dressed and come to X to X
