The three-day visit to Nigeria by Prince Harry of Britain and his African-American wife, Meghan has not gone without impacting on some young students.
Prince Harry, who is also the Duke of Sussex; and Meghan, who is Princess of Sussex, visited Nigeria late last week at the invitation of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa. Their first public outing in Abuja was a visit to Lightway Academy, in Wuse 2 area, where they met with students and spoke about mental health.
The British royals told the young students that “it is okay not to be okay” at times and that they should not shy away from talking about mental health issues.
A 14-year-old student, Miss Valeria Offia was among the audience that listened to the talk by Harry and Meghan in her school.
Harry later autographed his book, Spare, for Valeria. The Prince wrote in his autograph: “Keep inspiring others, smashing stigma and making a difference”.
Valeria described the visit by the British visitors as “nice”.
