The Rotary Club of Ojodu, a beacon of community service and humanitarian interventions, has concluded Rotary Family Health Day (RFHD), which beneficiaries described as “highly successful and impactful”.
The intervention held last Tuesday and Wednesday in front of Destiny Child Primary School, l Powerline Yakoko, Ojodu, anf witnessed an outpouring of support from volunteers and medical professionals, all dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the local community.
Chaired by Rotarian Toyin Aiyeola, this year’s RFHD brought together a team of dedicated board members and medical officers to offer essential healthcare services to residents in the Lagos-Ogun outskirts. Over the course of two days, more than 500 indigenes in the area bbenefitted rom a wide range of medical services aimed at promoting overall health and wellness.
The array of services included Polio immunization, HIV testing and counselling, malaria screening and treatment, family planning and counselling, dental check and care services, cervical/breast cancer screening, and prostate cancer screening, among other more vital healthcare interventions.
Club President, Rotarian Ijeoma Nwosu said that the 19-year-old member of Rotary International is deeply committed to serving its community and addressing the healthcare needs of its residents. “Through initiatives like the Rotary Family Health Day, we are able to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families, ensuring access to essential healthcare services and promoting overall well-being”, she said.
Chartered on 8th March 2005 with 26 dedicated members, Rotary Club of Ojodu has grown exponentially and has undertaken numerous projects aimed at uplifting the indigent members of the Ojodu community.
