For Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his social contract with Lagosians is not only sacrosanct but remains a bounden duty of some sorts. Little wonder he has continued to go above and beyond the call of duty to fulfill his constitutional mandate to the people of Lagos.

During a recent interactive with the media, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi reassured residents that more beneficial programmes and policies are on the way to further provide relief in the face of the biting economic challenges.

While reiterating that the Sanwo-Olu administration remained committed to improving the quality of lives in Lagos, Afolabi gave hints that some of the laudable initiatives already in the pipeline were to further complement the existing ones.

Specifically, he said that the initiatives include “Sanwo-Olu Listens Financial Assistance Programme”, “Ilera-Eko Health Care Scheme” and the “Ounje-Eko” Discount Market, would be further enhanced to deliver optimally.

“The governor has consistently supported our mission to bring the dividends of democracy to grassroots communities. Last year, we were able to visit some communities in Badagry, where we distributed palliatives to residents.

“In addition, we have the Maternal and Child Health Development programme, which provides nutritious food items to support vulnerable pregnant women from prenatal to postnatal stages at all the five divisions in Lagos State”, Afolabi said.

He appreciated the governor and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat for their efforts towards the well-being of residents.

He revealed that efforts were being made to host a breakfast meeting with the media officials, reiterating the office’s commitment to engaging the public and creating awareness about the ongoing government programmes and policies for all residents of the state.
