Senate President Godswill Akpabio yesterday declared the Ebonyi-South and Yobe-East districts’ seats vacant. The two seats were vacated by Senators Dave Umahi and Ibrahim Geidam, following their appointments by President Bola Tinubu as ministers. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong is set to resign from the Federal Executive Council. The minister has collected his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday. The Court of Appeal had earlier sacked Peoples Democratic Party’s Bali Napoleon and declared Lalong as the Senator for Plateau South Senatorial Zone.
