A fatal road crash on Tuesday that claimed the life of a passenger and left two others injured, has caused heavy traffic along the Idi-Iroko inward Ogolonto axis of Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Olalekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed the incident in a statement by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Taofiq Adebayo.
According to LASTMA, the crash involved a commercial bus and a truck, with one victim crushed to death after being flung from the bus. Emergency responders conveyed the injured to the Ikorodu General Hospital while efforts were made to ease the traffic gridlock that had built up along the busy corridor.
It was reported that the incident comes barely 24 hours after another crash at the Ibeju Bus Stop on the Lekki–Epe Expressway claimed six lives and left nine others injured.
