The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has confirmed that Saudi Arabia has officially closed the data-capture window for the 2026 Hajj season.
The commission has, however, appealed for an extension to enable Nigeria to complete uploads for the remaining intending pilgrims.
In a statement on Monday, NAHCON said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, shut the data-capturing process on the Nusuk Masar platform, which is required for pilgrims’ registration and processing.
NAHCON’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Fatima Usara, said the commission had formally written to Saudi authorities seeking additional time.
‘Following the closure of the data-capturing window, NAHCON has appealed to the Saudi authorities for an extension to enable all concerned Hajj organs in Nigeria to complete the capture of the remaining Nigerian pilgrims yet to be uploaded on the Nusuk Masar platform’, Usara said.
She added that the commission was optimistic about a positive response and promised to keep the public informed.
‘The commission remains hopeful that the request will receive favourable consideration and assures the public that timely updates will be provided as soon as further communication is received’, she said.

NAHCON also warned intending pilgrims against making any payments, stressing that the payment process for the 2026 Hajj had been officially closed.
‘In the meantime, NAHCON strongly advises all intending pilgrims to refrain from paying Hajj fares to any individual, group or agency, as payment for the 2026 Hajj has been officially closed’, Usara said.
She urged the public to rely solely on NAHCON’s verified communication channels for updates.
‘We encourage all stakeholders and intending pilgrims to follow NAHCON’s official communication platforms for accurate information and further guidance’, she added.
NAHCON said it is working closely with Saudi authorities to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated Hajj process for Nigerian pilgrims.
‘The commission appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders as we engage with the Saudi authorities to ensure a seamless Hajj experience for our pilgrims’, Usara said.
