As part of the realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Gbenga Hashim has held a high level meeting with Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
Makinde himself has been touted as a presidential aspirant in the party. He is now one of only two governors in the party with his Bauchi State counterpart, Senator Bala Mohammed denying reports that he had dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Hashim described the meeting with Makinde as productive and forward looking, noting that discussions centered on strengthening unity within the PDP and positioning the party to play a more decisive role in Nigeria’s multi party democratic system.
