PR consultant, Toks wins PDP Ondo North Senatorial ticket

Better known as Toks, Modupe won the fiercely contested Ondo North Senatorial District in the primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was conducted on Monday.

He polled 124 delegate votes to defeat his challenger, Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, who had 93 delegate votes.

A faithful of the party since its formation in 1998,  Toks has served the PDP in various capacities and supported the political aspirations of many members in party and in the general elections.

He was the Ondo State campaign director of the Goodluck Jonathan presidential campaign for the 2015 election.

He contested the primary for the same position in the same district four years ago.

While picking his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form at Wadata Plaza, the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja two months ago, Toks expressed confidence in his emergence as the party’s candidate.

He assured his party members and supporters that, with the level of despondency about “the abysmal performance of the ruling All Progressive Party by the people of Ondo North senatorial district and Nigeria at large”, he would surely deliver the district to the party in the 25^th February 2023 election.
