Podium Media, publishers of a major general interest magazine, has concluded arrangement for next month’s unveiling of its international magazine in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

The Nigerian leg of the twin launch holds on Tuesday, 7th June at CLAM Events Centre, Omole Phase 1, Lagos; while the UK version comes up on 18th June at Streatham in the English capital.

In a recent virtual media engagement, the magazine’s Publisher, Mr Ademola Akinbola said the vision of his outfit is to build a global media brand that would celebrate the good deeds of Nigerians all over the world. He noted that the culture of blame, criticism, and condemnation must be replaced with a culture that appreciates and celebrates good people while they are still alive.

“As a people, we are quick to condemn but slow to commend. We sometimes also celebrate people with dubious pedigree. This must stop. A lot of Nigerians are doing exploits all over the world, unnoticed, unrecognised, and uncelebrated. The Podium is out to change this order “, Akinbola said.

Founded in 2019, the Podium Media, he said, is focused on identifying and serenading the good and exemplary deeds of Nigerians at home and abroad.

“We are irrevocably committed to pioneering a culture revolution under which outstanding feats of honest and diligent Nigerians will be showcased for posterity. The Podium International magazine is a platform created to promote Nigeria and Nigerians in a way that will add value to those concerned and the country in general”, Akinbola added.

A general interest magazine, The Podium commenced operations three years ago with an online edition via www.thepodiummedia.com. The print edition  debuted in the United States in 2021. It currently circulates in Houston, Dallas, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Indianapolis.

The Nigerian launch will be spiced with a lecture on “Branding and Entrepreneurship”, to be delivered by a foremost Public Relations consultant, Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe. Modupe is also the Senatorial candidate in the 2023 elections.

Akinbola stated that the global unveiling is an inclusive marketing strategy aimed at extending the reach of the magazine to major countries with significant Nigerian population. He said that the Canada and South Africa launches will respectively follow in August and October.

According to the Publisher, the vision of the Podium International magazine is to celebrate Nigerian professionals, business managers, and entrepreneurs with legitimate means of livelihood. The focus, he further said, is on sharing success stories so that others can learn and be inspired.

Akinbola is an experienced journalist and an accomplished author with four published books. He has nearly three decades of professional experience as a strategic marketing communications professional. He worked in the mainstream media for the first seven years of his career at The Guardian, West African Pilot, Punch, and THISDAY before he switched to brand management.
