Three people were reported dead in an accident that occurred at about 11 pm on Saturday around Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The crash, according to a statement from the Spokesperson of Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, involved an Iveco truck with plate number AA414ZY and a Cabster PickUp with plate number ZUR 601ZY.
The cause of the accident was said to be excessive speed making the vehicles lose control and crash.
The bodies of the dead were said to have been taken away by the family members for burials.
The statement partly read, “The fatal crash occurred at about 2300 hrs late last night, involving 02 vehicles with registration numbers AA414ZY IVECO TRUCK AND A CABSTER PICK UP ZUR 601ZY
“A total of 04 persons were involved all male adults.
“Unfortunately 3 Persons were recorded dead and 1 person unhurt.
“The suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control and crash. The dead bodies were taken by family”.
Meanwhile, following the abduction of six young girls in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, the Nigeria Police Force said it is intensifying plans to rescue the victims.
The force also assured Nigerians that plans are ongoing to prevent further kidnapping cases across the country.
This development was made known in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Saturday.
