The Managing Director of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Aliyu Tahir, has called on citizens to actively contribute to the nation’s development.

In a statement on Monday, Tahir extended congratulations to President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, while emphasising the importance of national unity and individual responsibility.

Tahir urged Nigerians to embrace the values left by the nation’s forefathers, including patience, sacrifice, and justice.

He stated, “It has been 64 years since our nation got her independence. The grace that has sustained us as a nation has proven without doubt, the love God has for us”.

He reflected on Nigeria’s resilience amidst challenges, asserting that the nation has thrived on its diversity.

Acknowledging the setbacks that accompany growth, he remarked, “Indeed, there are some setbacks; however, one cannot deny the fact that even the most powerful nations have these setbacks”.

He called for a collective effort in rebuilding Nigeria, emphasising the necessity of adhering to foundational values for a safer and more prosperous nation.

Tahir further stressed the significance of prayer and unity in addressing current challenges, stating, “It is therefore important that we take a collective effort in rebuilding our dear nation by striving to make our country a better and safe place”.

In his commitment to the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, Tahir reaffirmed NEMSA’s dedication to enforcing technical standards and regulations, ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical installations.

He expressed gratitude for the continued support from the federal leadership and wished all Nigerians a joyful Independence Day celebration.
