Travel content creator Pelumi Nubi arrived in Nigeria on Sunday after the London to Lagos road trip she embarked upon on 31st January 2024.

Nubi was welcomed at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border by Lagos Commissioner of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka; and Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Idris Aregbe.

Nubi’s next destination was Badagry before proceeding to the University of Lagos for her homecoming celebration.

Her road manifest from the United Kingdom took her through France and Spain, into Africa through Morocco.

It indicates that she drove across Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and finally to Lagos, Nigeria.

During her solo road trip, Nubi encountered numerous challenges, including a crash last month, from which she survived. Video footage depicted severe damage to the front of her vehicle and a shattered windshield.

She also faced difficulties with several African immigration officers denying her entry to Sierra Leone at the border.

”I was very lonely; I missed my family and friends. I was shaken when I had an accident, but I’m grateful it was just a temporary setback”, she said.

Nubi said she embarked on the journey to connect the two places she calls home.

“I wanted to undertake something truly brave, something that symbolically connects the two places I consider home and where I’ve spent significant time”, she stated.

In 2022, Nubi gained attention for exploring 77 countries before age 27. With her most recent journey, she has continued to expand her international experiences.
