The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed the immediate past President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), Chief Yomi Badejo-Okunsanya as Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG).

To assist Badejo-Okunsanya (popularly called YBO) are a former Director of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Hajiya Lami Tumaka as First Vice Chairman; and Shell’s Dr. Alice Ajeh as Second Vice Chairman.

In a statement on Monday, NIPR’s Director of Public Relations, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo said that the constitution of the Board follows the successful unveiling of the NRMG in Abuja last 15 October. He explained that NRMG is an initiative of the NIPR to find lasting solution to reputational issues affecting the growth and development of the country.

At the virtual inauguration of the committee, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku said that the nation’s reputation is a key priority for the Institute, noting that Nigeria needs reputation as an asset to trade at global market.

Badejo-Okunsanya will lead a 17-member team of experts, including Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha, Ambassador Tope Elias-Fatile, and Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun.

Others are: Alhaji Sadiq Kassim, Mr. Franklyn Ginger-Eke, Chief Tokunbo Modupe, Chief Moji Makanjuola, and Ogadigo.

Also on the Board are Lawal Oluwatosin Kafayat (representating the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation), Mr. Nanfa Nandap (NIPR Young Professionals Hub), representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the CEO of the NRMG will serve as Secretary to the Board.

Amongst other responsibilities, the Board has been charged to work closely with the NIPR Council and other partners for the construction of the Nigeria Reputation House.
