Following a directive from the National Hajj Commission, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has extended the deadline for Hajj seat payments via bank draft.
During an orientation workshop for staff and local government centre officers at Grand Central Hotel in Kano, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa stated that the payment window would remain open for intending pilgrims until the first day of Ramadan.
According to a statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the Director General further said that, as of Tuesday, the Board had remitted over N22 billion to the commission on behalf of pilgrims from the state.
Danbappa commended the state government for its swift response in addressing the Board’s needs whenever required.
The Board’s Chairman, Alhaji Yusif Lawan urged staff and local government Hajj centre officers to put in greater efforts in discharging their duties.
Speakers at the orientation programme included Sheikh Muhammad Sani Ashir, Malam Nasiru Maccido, Abdulrashid Habib Ibrahim and the Board’s Director of Planning.
