An Abia State High Court presided over by Justice LTC Eruba has stopped the enforcement of the purported suspension of the former Senate President and the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party, Adolphus Wabara.

In a court order made available to Sunday PUNCH, Justice Eruba restrained Abia PDP leadership, led by Elder Abraham Amah, from enforcing the said suspension.

Granting the prayers of the claimant, the court ordered that “The defendant is restrained from enforcing the suspension of the claimant/applicant from the People’s Democratic Party, or in any way affecting his position as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP till the motion on notice is determined.”

Amah, a former Vice Chairman of the PDP, Abia North, had a few weeks ago in Umuahia, announced the suspension of Wabara, accusing the former senate president of engaging in anti-party activities.

Amah had cited a complimentary remark by Wabara who said Governor Alex Otti had done well and deserved another tenure over the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road, Aba, in October 2023.

However, in a swift reaction, the National Working Committee of the PDP declared the purported suspension as “null and void and of no effect,” positing that it was a violation of the party’s constitution.
