No fewer than six suspects have been arrested for killing two police officers at Kolere village in Fune Local Government Area of the state.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Yobe State Police Command, Abdu Abubakar Ozo, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after a routine State Security Council meeting, presided over by the state Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Guban.
DCP Ozo said the arrested suspects have links to the killing of the two police officers, adding that they are in the custody of State CID for further investigation.
According to him, the state command had deployed more operatives searching for more of those involved in the killing of the officers.
Recall that DAILY POST had reported that DSP Ali Pindar and DSP Jantuku Philibus were killed by hoodlums in separate incidents early this year for attempting to arrest suspected gang members in Kolere community, Fune local government area of Yobe State.
