Amaju Pinnick has been appointed Special Adviser to President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe.

The appointment of Pinnick, who was a former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was approved by CAF’s executive committee on Saturday.

By virtue of this new role, the 54-year-old will now attend CAF’s executive meeting.

Pinnick recently lost his seat in the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), executive committee.

He was the third Nigerian to serve in the FIFA council after Oyo Orok Oyo and Amos Adamu.

His new position is a clear appreciation of his contributions to the development of football in Africa.
