Gospel legend, Donnie McClurkin ends career, to release last studio album

Grammy-winning gospel singer, Donnie McClurkin, has announced that his upcoming project, ‘FINALLY’, will be his last studio album, drawing the curtain on a recording career spanning nearly three decades.

The 65-year-old, widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in gospel music, shared the news on social media, describing the record as a heartfelt farewell.

‘We recorded something special, my last and final recording titled Finally … I can’t wait for you to hear these songs’, McClurkin told fans.

Born Donald Andrew McClurkin Jr. on 9 November 1959, in Copiague, New York, the gospel icon has sold more than 13 million albums worldwide.

Over the years, he has earned three Grammy Awards, ten Stellar Awards, two BET Awards, two Soul Train Awards, a Dove Award, and an NAACP Image Award.

Often called the ‘Reigning King of Urban Gospel’, McClurkin’s timeless hits, including Stand, We Fall Down, and Speak to My Heart, have become staples in churches across the globe.
