Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire incident that ravaged a residential building in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
According to Daily Post, the incident occured in the Oke Elerin area of Ogbomoso early Friday morning.
Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the inferno.
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident. He said that no life was lost in the incident.
Akinwande said, ‘The fire personnel led by CFS Dairo Rasheedat promptly mobilised to the scene of the incident. Upon arrival, we met six rooms and three shops in an ancient residential building well alighted and we swiftly swung into action, the fire was curtailed and restricted from spreading to other nearby buildings and properties.
‘No casualty was recorded. The operation was carried out successfully and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the officers of the fire service. The cause of the fire incident was yet to establish and post fire incident investigation is ongoing to ascertain the root cause of the incident’.
