President Bola Tinubu is set to attend the eighth edition of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) as the Special Guest of Honour. The summit will take place in Abuja from 11 to 13 November, 2025, according to the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

The announcement was made on Friday during a press briefing in Abuja by ,

Organised annually by NiDCOM, the NDIS serves as a strategic platform to attract investment from Nigerians in the diaspora into key sectors of the country’s economy.

Since its launch in 2018, the summit has grown significantly in reach and impact, drawing participation from diaspora investors, government officials, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. The focus areas include real estate, healthcare, agriculture, ICT, energy, manufacturing, and the creative industries.

Dabiri-Erewa highlighted the success of the 2024 edition, which generated investment deals valued at ₦673 million across various sectors.

‘The last edition, held in November 2024, attracted over 1,500 participants both physically and virtually, including 236 investors, 1,197 business owners, and 168 government representatives’, she said.

A total of 56 investment pitches were presented during the summit, covering eight critical sectors of the economy and resulting in approximately 168 deals.

‘This clearly shows the momentum the summit has built over the years’, she added.

Looking ahead to this year’s edition, Dabiri-Erewa confirmed that President Tinubu will once again honour the event with his presence.

‘We are deeply honoured that His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, will once again serve as the Special Guest of Honour’, she stated. ‘We look forward to welcoming distinguished business leaders, diaspora investors, policy influencers, and creative talents who continue to demonstrate faith in Nigeria’s future’.

The 2025 summit will focus on leveraging diaspora investment to drive both regional and national development under the theme: ‘Fast-Tracking Regional and National Development by Mobilising Diaspora Investment’.

Dabiri-Erewa also noted that the summit has had a meaningful economic impact beyond investment figures. According to her, over ₦500 million has been injected into the local economy through services procured from SMEs and creatives during previous editions.

She emphasised that this year’s summit will continue to highlight sectors vital to Nigeria’s economic transformation, including finance and fintech, ICT, creative industries, sports and entertainment, agribusiness, healthcare, education, real estate and infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy.

‘We are committed to building on the progress we’ve made and ensuring that NDIS continues to be a catalyst for impactful investment in Nigeria’, Dabiri-Erewa concluded.
