Former Director-General of Tinubu Support Groups, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, on Sunday, declared his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Before over 2,000 ulama (Muslim scholars) who offered prayers for him on his return to his former party, Jibrin, in his home town Kofa, Kano State, renounced him membership of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by a former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
On his return to the governing APC, Jibrin said: ‘In a show of solidarity, I was warmly received by thousands of my constituents in my hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano. The gathering resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankwasiyya, join the APC, and endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office.
‘Earlier, about 2,000 Ulamas from my constituency offered special prayers for the President and peaceful coexistence, progress, and development of Kiru/Bebeji, Kano, and Nigeria at large’.
Jibrin represented the Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency, Kano in the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2019. He lost his seat to Hon. Ali Datti-Yako of the Peoples Democratic Party after a re-run was conducted in his federal constituency.
