The Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, Femi Aina, has called on party members across the state to take full advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise and prepare to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as tools for what he described as ‘meaningful political change’ in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement by him on Friday, Aina said there was ‘no debating the truth that the APC government has failed to live up to the people’s expectations’, insisting that the ruling All Progressives Congress should be ‘told point-blank’ by rejecting its bid to retain power in 2027.
The NNPP chairman delivered the charge during a strategic meeting in Keesi, Abeokuta, which brought together party executives, ward chairmen, women and youth leaders, and grassroots mobilisers.
Aina stressed the need for party members to stay focused, peaceful, and determined, warning that the country’s future hinges on citizens’ willingness to vote out ‘underperforming leadership’.
According to him: ‘Our PVCs remain the strongest weapon for positive change. We must reject violence, defend our votes, and show Nigeria that NNPP is ready to offer a credible alternative’.
He added that: ‘The APC has failed to meet Nigerians’ expectations, and it is time for us to step forward with courage. If we truly want this country to move forward, then we must be the instruments of that change’.
Aina urged intensified mobilisation at the grassroots and encouraged party members to ensure widespread voter readiness across Ogun State, emphasising that ‘no vote must be wasted’.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of NNPP in Abeokuta South Local Government, Alhaji Musibau Adekunle, reaffirmed the commitment of local party structures to work for victory in the next election cycle.
He said, ‘We are fully committed to the NNPP. We are not resigning, we are not decamping, and we are not going anywhere. Our team is strong, motivated, and ready to deliver Abeokuta South for NNPP in 2027’,
He assured the state leadership that ward chairmen and local executives are already engaging community members to expand the party’s influence at the grassroots.
The gathering, which drew members from all units in the local government, according to the statement, served as an opportunity to strengthen internal organisation and renew confidence in NNPP’s mission to present a ‘fresh and progressive political direction’ for Nigerians.
