Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday briefed President Bola Tinubu on the unfolding political crisis in Guinea-Bissau, warning that the situation remains fragile and in urgent need of regional attention.

Jonathan, who led the West African Elders Forum Election Observer Mission to the country, met President Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, where he provided a detailed, first-hand account of the turmoil that followed the military takeover, which halted the electoral process.

The former president had emphasised that Guinea-Bissau’s political situation was fragile and required urgent intervention to restore constitutional order.
